Audio and video transcription to text
Upload a file in the cabinet and Voisee gives you the text back, with commas and full stops. Download it as TXT or as SRT subtitles, and split the lines by speaker if you want. You can close the page and come back for the result later.
How to transcribe a file
1. Upload a file
Open the Transcribe a recording page in the cabinet (you need to be signed in) and choose a file: mp3, wav, m4a, ogg, flac, webm or mp4, up to 500 MB and up to 3 hours. These limits are the same on every plan.
2. Pick the language and speakers
Russian speech is recognised in the fast mode, other languages in the multilingual mode, which is slower. If you would rather not choose, leave Auto: the language is detected for you. The Split by speaker checkbox labels the lines.
3. Download the text
When the recording is recognised, the text opens on the page. Download it as TXT, or as SRT subtitles if the recording has segments, or save it to your notes. The transcript stays in the My transcripts list.
Video to text
Video is uploaded the same way as audio: mp4 and webm work. Voisee transcribes the audio track, so you need the video file itself.
SRT subtitles
If the recording has segments with timecodes, a Download SRT button appears next to the text: a ready subtitle file that video players and editors understand.
Languages
Russian speech is recognised in the fast mode. For English and other languages there is a multilingual mode: it is slower, a minute of recording takes 2.5 to 3.5 seconds. You can pick the language yourself or leave Auto.
Split by speaker
Tick Split by speaker and the lines get the labels Speaker 1, Speaker 2. It works for any language and on any plan. Speakers have no names, and on noisy recordings or when people talk at once the labels can be wrong.
Not only in the browser
You can transcribe a file outside the website too.
- In the computer app, the Transcription section.
- In the Android app, Transcribe a file.
- The My transcripts list is shared by the cabinet, the computer and Android. Transcripts are kept for 7 days.
