How to turn on voice typing in Word

1. Install Voisee

Download the app for Windows or macOS from the download page and start it. It lives in the system tray, so you do not need to keep its window open.

2. Put the cursor in the document

Open your Word document and click where the text should go. Voisee pastes the text into the window where you started recording, and in Word that is the cursor position.

3. Press Ctrl+Shift+A and speak

Ctrl+Shift+A starts recording; you can change the hotkey in settings, and Esc cancels the recording. The finished text lands at the cursor and also stays in the clipboard and in the app history.

Commas, full stops and capital letters

You do not need to dictate punctuation: the model adds commas, full stops and capital letters.

If pasting did not work, the text stays in the clipboard: paste it with ⌘V.

Word in the browser

Word in the browser works the same way: Voisee pastes the text into the browser window where you started recording. Put the cursor in the document and press Ctrl+Shift+A.
