SRT subtitles from video and audio
Upload a video or audio file, and Voisee transcribes the speech and gives you an SRT subtitle file with timecodes. You can fix the file in any subtitle editor.
How to make SRT subtitles
1. Upload a video or audio file
In the cabinet on the website, choose a file: video in mp4 or webm, audio in mp3, wav, m4a, ogg or flac. Up to 500 MB and up to 3 hours on every plan.
2. Wait for the transcript
Voisee recognises the speech and splits the text into segments with timecodes.
3. Click Download SRT
The Download SRT button shows up when the recording has segments with timecodes. In the computer app (the Transcription section) and in the Android app (Transcribe a file) you can export the transcript as TXT, SRT or MD.
What is inside an SRT file
SRT is a plain text subtitle file. Each subtitle has a number, a start and end time, and the text. For example:
1
00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:04,200
Good afternoon, let us start the meeting.
2
00:00:04,500 --> 00:00:08,000
First we will go over the plan for the week.
3
00:00:08,300 --> 00:00:11,600
Then we will move on to questions.Video players and video editors understand SRT.
A subtitle file, not a video
Voisee gives you an SRT file and does not burn the subtitles into the video.
You can burn the subtitles in with a video editor that opens SRT.
One segment, one subtitle
Each recognition segment becomes one subtitle. Long lines are not split, so it is worth fixing them: you can open the file in any subtitle editor.
Speaker labels in subtitles
Tick Split by speaker and the text of each subtitle starts with the speaker label.
Which language the subtitles are in
The subtitles come out in the language of the speech. Russian speech is recognised in the fast mode, other languages in the multilingual mode. Voisee does not translate subtitles into another language.
How much is free
The Free plan gives you 60 min a week, no card needed.
The file size (up to 500 MB) and the recording length (up to 3 hours) are the same on every plan.
