Video to text: transcribe video online
Upload an mp4 or webm video file and Voisee transcribes its audio track: you get text with punctuation and timecodes. Download it as TXT or as SRT subtitles.
How to turn a video into text
1. Upload the video
In the cabinet on the website, in the computer app or in the Android app, choose a video file: mp4 or webm, up to 500 MB and up to 3 hours.
2. Pick the language and speakers
Russian speech is recognised in the fast mode, English and other languages in the multilingual mode, which is slower. The Split by speaker checkbox labels the lines.
3. Download the text or SRT
Download the finished text, with punctuation, as TXT or as SRT subtitles, or save it to your notes. The transcript stays in the My transcripts list.
Which videos work
Video files in mp4 and webm work. Voisee transcribes the audio track of the video. The file can be up to 500 MB and the recording up to 3 hours, the same on every plan.
Voisee does not take videos by link: you need the video file itself.
Audio files are uploaded the same way: mp3, wav, m4a, ogg, flac.
Lectures, webinars and interviews
A recording of a lecture, webinar or interview is transcribed in full if it is no longer than 3 hours. Cut a longer recording into parts and upload each one.
The text segments have timecodes, so it is easy to find the right spot in the video.
SRT subtitles
Next to the text there is a Download SRT button: it saves a subtitle file with the segment timecodes.
Languages
Russian speech is recognised in the fast mode. For English and other languages there is a multilingual mode: it is slower, a minute of recording takes 2.5 to 3.5 seconds. You can pick the language yourself or leave Auto.
Split by speaker
Tick Split by speaker and the lines get the labels Speaker 1, Speaker 2. It works for any language and on any plan. Speakers have no names, and on noisy recordings or when people talk at once the labels can be wrong.
